I have not watched the videos yet, but will.

Off the top of my head, I think Honeyghan lost some of the prestige he gained in stopping Curry, when Curry got pole axed by The Body Snacther McCallum.

Not fair but sort of how quick legends get made and then forgotten.

I saw a lot of Honeyghan's fights.I wouldn't put him at the top of the UK Welters, and certainly not in the top 20 of all time.

He has that great win but was too inconsistent overall. Similar to how Turpin has a better win than any other UK middleweight but less overall career success.

Among UK fighters, I would've said Ted Kid Lewis would be 1st for most people. But boxrec has him 13th. They also have Conor Benn 26th somehow.

Ted Kid Lewis certainly. Curry was diminished by drug use, of course. A similar win to J.H. Stacey's over Napoles, who was likewise diminished, but by Age. The Ragamuffin Man was an excellent Welterweight though. Starling was just a little better.

good points of view here. i recall like i do many 80's big fights and i was made to go to bed and my older brother was allowed to stay up through the night to see it. when i woke he came in screaming "he f***ing beat him Ive won 40 quid"
I recall these childhood moments so well in boxing alot of fights were in the night as they came from las vegas.
could some of you name some brits who were better then lloyd?

                  Man, Kell Brook was something.

I really hate that "the business of boxing" between Khan & being frozen out of big fights & being basically forced to go up to 160 to fight GGG to get a decent fight, ruined his career.

At least he did get some getback against Khan at the end though.

                    This will get you started.

Liverpool's highly gifted Ernie Roderick working his perpetual right uppercut on the great Henry Armstrong.
